Now is the time to have a say in the future of water security in the Burdekin region.
The Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers is developing Regional Water Assessments that identify ways to support economic growth in strategically important regions of the state through investment in water.
As a participant on the stakeholder advisory group and working group, Bowen Gumlu Growers has provided ongoing input and feedback to the assessment process and helped shape the draft Burdekin Regional Water Assessment Summary Report.
The Burdekin Regional Water Assessment process has sought to identify the most viable ways to support the Burdekin region’s future economic growth.
As a next step, the Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers, supported by its contractors, will be conducting public consultation on the draft Burdekin Regional Water Assessment Summary Report from 14 July to 22 August 2025
We encourage you to participate as we are keen to hear your views.
