Japanese Agricultural Exchange Program (JAEP)
In April this year, Bowen Gumlu Growers Association and Trade Investment Queensland welcomed our 11 Japanese trainees to Bowen for the 2022 program.
This group of 11 trainees waited patiently for two years for Covid-19 restrictions to ease to enable them to travel to North Queensland to participate in the program.
The trainees undertook English language tuition as well as a Farm Ready course at TAFE Qld prior to commencing their farm placements on fruit and vegetable farms in the Bowen region.
