Sean Brown, Director of Bowen Pipeline Company, recently shared an update on the progress of the project and the support received from our president, Carl Walker. We have included this letter below, thank you to Sean for your continued work and dedication to this important infrastructure for our region.
Regional infrastructure that supports growers is vital for our sector’s long-term success. Through its sponsorship of the BGGA, the Bowen Pipeline Company has shown continued leadership and belief in the region’s agricultural potential. We are genuinely excited to see the Bowen Pipeline Project progress, and look forward to the positive impact it will deliver for water security, industry resilience and future-focused opportunity across our sector.

Bowen Pipeline Water Infrastructure Project – Generational Enrichment
We are delighted to announce that we anticipate receiving the State Ministerial conditions of Project approval in the next couple of weeks.
This is the most significant Milestone in the entire Project. The Ministerial approval means that the Project moves from being a “great concept on paper” to a living breathing real Project that now has a life of its own. This is the culmination of over 9 years of effort by many people.
In particular, we wish to thank your President, Carl Walker for his unstinting determination to ensure this Project is developed and constructed in a timely manner. Carl freely gives his time to me and the Project, having travelled up and down the coast countless times to talk about this amazing region, its people and our region changing infrastructure Project.
Carl’s breadth and depth of associations developed during his time with the BGGA is extraordinary. At every one of the many meetings at the Federal, State and Local levels we attend, Carl will know someone or they will know of the BGGA.
The Bowen Pipeline Project would not have achieved this momentous Milestone without Carl’s drive, persistence and knowledge.
Equally as important, we wish to sincerely thank Minister Dale Last for being the projects unstinting champion and the Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie for his leadership and changing of the Government’s ethos to give the private sector a fair go. Mayors Ry Collins and Pierina Dalle Cort are also championing the Project and we thank them sincerely.
It takes a community and leadership at the highest levels to build a $700 million Project such as ours. This project is being built on the shoulders of the people who not only live in the region but all those who came before us, your parents, grandparents and the generations before.
Thank you once again to everyone who has contributed in words and actions to move this Project one major step closer to turning soil in 12 months time.
Kind regards
Sean Brown
Director
